Aadhar card is a 12-digit identification number allotted by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UDAI) is essential for CAT. Common Admission Test (CAT) is one of the most competitive management exams in India.
So, all the interested students who want to appear for CAT exam must fill and submit the application form. But, before start filling the application form, students must confirm that they have all the documents required at the time of filling the application form.
Why is Aadhar Card mandatory for CAT?
All the students who are seeking admission into MBA programme in various prestigious IIMs and top-rated MBA colleges through CAT must have Aadhar Card. It is basically used for security and identity purposes of the student.
It will be used as candidate’s identity in all states of India, except for the students from Assam, Meghalaya and Jammu and Kashmir. Following are some points which make Aadhar Card mandatory for CAT:
- it contains all the required details of the candidates like their name, citizenship, photograph and biometric details
- With the help of the details on the Aadhar card, it will be easy for the official to eliminate any impersonation
- It will also eliminate the need for the multiple documents such as Birth Certificate, Address Proof, and Identification Card etc.
Making Aadhar card compulsory for all the exams is very important to improve the quality of the exams. 12 digit identification number helps to verify candidate’s educational credentials which reduces job application frauds.
What if students don’t have Aadhar Card?
There are few states like Assam, Jammu & Kashmir and Meghalaya where the Aadhar card is not available. Making it as compulsory for a competitive exam like CAT is still in progress and the result is expected to be positive. Students can use their Photo Identity issued by the state government to appear for the competitive exams.
Yet the notification has not be announced. For exams like NEET 2017 and JEE Main 2017, the students from Assam, Meghalaya and Jammu & Kashmir, where the Aadhar card has not been issued can apply for the exam by submitting the following documents:
- Bank Accountant Number
- Passport Number
- Ration Card Number etc
