After the announcement of CAT results, all of the IIM’s present across the country release their individual cut-offs and shortlist the students as per their criteria and call them for the further selection process.  The relatively 10 new IIM’s namely, IIM Ranchi, IIM Kashipur, IIM Udaipur, IIM Rohtak, IIM Trichy, IIM Amritsar, IIM Bodhgaya, IIM Jammu, IIM Sambalpur and IIM Raipur will conduct a Common Admission Process (CAP) to shortlist students for the WAT, GD and PI rounds. However, merit lists will be declared separately.

IIM Raipur’s cutoff has remained consistent at 90 percentile over the past few years. Going by the previous year’s trends, even this year the cutoff is likely to remain at the same at 90 percentile for general category and sectional cut-off is expected to be around 80 percentile. As per the recent admission policy released by IIM Raipur, for the final merit list the institute would allocate around 32 percent weightage to CAT 2018 score, 30 percent weightage to WAT/PI rounds and the rest 38 percent would be distributed on the profile of the students depending on factors such as academic details, work experience and diversity.

Indian Institute of Management Raipur was established in the year 2010 in Chhattisgarh. This would be the 8th batch offering PGP in IIM Raipur since its inception.

Programmes

The Programmes offered by IIM Raipur are:

  • Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP)
  • Fellow Programme in Management (FPM)
  • Post Graduate Programme in Management for Working Executive (PGPWE)

 Fees

The approx. Fee for the two year post graduate program is around Rs.12.31 lakhs

Selection Process

The admission process of IIM Raipur consists of:

  1. Common Admission Test (CAT) Examination.
  2. Initial Short listing of the Candidates for Personal Appearance (PA) process based on their CAT scores.
  3. Conducting PA process which comprises of Written Analysis Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI), and
  4. Releasing the final merit list of selected students on the basis of CAT score, PI & WAT score and the profile scores.

The above cut-offs mentioned are in percentiles. Compared to previous year, the cut-off seems to remain the same however; this is the minimum expected cut-off percentile and may vary depending upon the required number of shortlisted students. It may increase or decrease subjected to short listing of the candidates for the WAT & PI.

For academic profile, the breakup to different academic scores would be as follows:

10th standard                   7
12th standard                   6
Graduation                   7

These points will be allocated based upon the percentage of marks scored by the student in class X, class XII and graduation. Total points allocated to academics are 20.

Apart from academics, weightage is also allocated to work experience. Depending upon the number of months of work experience, the scores will be assigned to candidates on a scale of 0-6.

A total point allocated to work ex is 6.

Apart from all the above parameters, IIM Raipur lays a strong focus on having a diverse student base in its PGP program. The institute has allocated 12 score points for diversity and in order to promote diversity and gender balance female candidates are given some extra brownie points (6 points).  Also, students various academic disciplines like arts/humanities; commerce, science etc are considered to ensure an academic diversity.
